POPCOM 10 ORGANIZES POPDEV PRESS CORPS

THE Commission on Population (POPCOM) in Region 10 has organized the Population and Development Press Corps for Northern Mindanao(PopDevPC-Normin), in an effort to expand its information, education, communication and advocacy (IEC/A) campaign for natural family planning (NFP) and other population issues and concerns
During the two-day organizational orientation at POPCOM Training Center, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, the following were elected to the first set of officers of PopDevPC-Normin Ardison “Papa Adie” Arsua of RGMA Campus Radio, president; Walter Balane of Central Mindanao Newswatch, executive vide president; Arjay S. Felicilda of MindaNow Forum, vice president for Cagayan de Oro City; Gegel Gorilao of the Capitol Press Office, vice president for Misamis Oriental; and Eric Cacay of MBC-Love Radio Malaybalay, vice president for Bukidnon.
Annabelle D. Florendo of Bukidnon Daily News, secretary; Delia N. Lapar of Catholic Radio – DXDB Malaybalay, treasurer and Jovie T. Yohoy of UMBN-Radyo Okay, Valencia City, auditor.
Board of directors Terry Betonio of Golden Chronicle, Raul Moldez of Cagayan de Oro City Council Press Office, Joel Escol of Real Review Newspaper, Teogenes “Dondon” Yrat Jr. of RPC-DXCO, Jo Anna Cabigas of DXMB Tatak RMN Malaybalay, Maxie Cadavez of MBC Radyo Natin, Manolo Fortich and Maribel Terez del Campo of Radyo Abante, Valencia City.
The other members of the PopDevPC-Normin are Dante Sudaria of Mindanao Gold Star Daily, Jun del Puerto Felicilda of Real Review Newspaper, Bing Jacinto of DXIF Bombo Radyo and Jay Valleser of Mindanao Gold Star Daily.
POPCOM 10 Regional Director Psyche P. Paler, Training Manager Joe del Puerto Felicilda and Ms. Alma Valleser are the advisers.
Paler said, the PopDevPC-Normin officers are scheduled to take their oath of office before POPCOM Executive Director Tomas Osias during the regional directors national conference in Cagayan de Oro City before the end of April 2009. (Arjay S. Felicilda)
